Communicating Precisely
Clearly and Correctly

The aim of this workshop is to firstly give you insight into your own communication style, and how this plays out within your team. Both when things are going well, and then when stress, uncertainty and pressure start to build. 


We will then workshop practical and credible tools – for your context – that will help you and your team to communicate mental models clearly, precisely, correctly and at the right time to enhance individual and team performance. 


Prior to commencing this workshop, you will be invited to complete an electronic version of The Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI). This is a questionnaire designed to measure your underlying motives and beliefs, as well as your leadership style. 


Once complete, the SDI will give you an extensive report focused on explaining your behaviours in the workplace when things are going well, and when in conflict – a critical aspect to understand for high performing teams. These results will be workshopped as part of the course.

  • What is a high-performance team, and why is communication critical to the development and maintenance of the team in complex and uncertain environments?
  • Workshop common blockers and enablers of team performance, and how you can manage these for your context – with specific focus on enhanced communication.
  • Explore your Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI) results.
  • Use the SDI results to discover the techniques for optimising both your team’s performance, and your leadership skills, through enhanced communication styles.
  • Discover the 5 stages of team development and functioning through the lens of your SDI results, and how you and your team can build resilience to an uncertain world.
  • Workshop the model of team performance using the PBED (plan, brief, execute, debrief) framework, and how communication is used to optimise each aspect of this process.
  • Communication in mentoring and coaching as it relates to your SDI results.
  • How to best utilise your communication style in a diverse, changing, or evolving team structures.
  • How to use shared mental models, and closed loop communication, to enhance team functioning.
